Marriage License Information
A marriage license obtained in South Carolina is valid for a marriage ceremony anywhere in the state. A Marriage license can be obtained from any county in South Carolina but marriage license from other states are not valid. Blood tests are not necessary.
Obtaining A Marriage License In Horry County
Couples can secure an application in Horry County at one location presently.

Couples will need to apply in person at the County Probate Court office. Applications must be on file at least 24 hours before a Marriage License can be issued. Individuals under the age of 18 must have certified copies of their birth certificates, as well as notarized statements of consent from a parent or legal guardian. Individuals over age 18 may use a driver’s license or passport to verify age. You will need to present your Social Security cards. The fee is $50 cash for all county residents, $75 cash for state residents, and $115 cash or money order for out-of-state residents and all others. Questions call (843) 915-5370. If you’re thinking about a wedding on public property within the City of Myrtle Beach, here are some helpful details: The public beach — Commercially produced weddings are not permitted on the public beach. All other weddings are allowed on the public beach.
Private portions of the beach — Only a handful of oceanfront lots extend to the high tide line, and the city has no jurisdiction for either commercially produced or non-commercial weddings on those few lot extensions.
Public parks in commercial areas, by reservation — Weddings are permitted in public parks in the commercial areas of the city, with an approved Facility Use Permit. Contact City Hall at (843) 918-1008. Shelter rental is required if a shelter exists at the park . Insurance certification is not required if the Facility Use Permit is in the name of the bride or groom.
